Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is a wide-known application of electricity for therapeutic purpose. It is based on passing an electric current through tissue to locally stimulate nerves and muscles. It can be applied to numb pain; to sedate or to stimulate and irritate nerves and muscles in muscle atrophy, rheumatism of the joints, and other conditions.
